Organic Lawn Treatments - The Hall's Landscaping Method

Organic lawn treatments are part of an overall program to keep your lawn healthy and strong. Along with organic fertilization and treatments products, Hall's Landscaping uses multiple overseedings and soil tests to insure a full and thriving turf for years to come.

Along with the organic treatments, Hall's Landscaping recommends aeration of your lawn at least once per year. Aeration is a key part of organic lawn care - take a look at our aerating page to learn more about the benefits of core aeration.

Organic Lawn Programs - Doing Your Part

For organic lawn programs to work properly, you have to be involved in the process. First, you have to make sure that your lawn is getting the right amount of water. Watering for an hour 2-3 times a week can greatly increase the strength and look of your turf. Another thing is mowing - the recommended height for most turf grasses in Northern Virginia is 3 inches. Mowing your grass shorter than 3 inches will allow weed seeds to germinate and propogate throughout your lawn, and allowing the lawn to grow much longer than that will create a breeding ground for insects. Following these simple steps can make a world of difference in the health and appearance of your lawn.

Hall's Landscaping Now Offering Free Soil Testing

Hall's Landscaping now offers free soil testing through the Virginia Cooperative Extension for all of our organic lawn treatment clients. These soil tests allow us to tailor our Organic Lawn Treatment Program to your lawn's specific needs. Organic fertilizers can be used to correct chemical imbalances in your lawn, such as using lime to correct the pH of your turf. They can also be used to strengthen the roots and feeding systems in your lawn - the free soil tests tell us what needs to be used to make that happen.
